PPA’s International Photographic Competition (IPC) is a world-renowned photographic competition, where entries are evaluated against a standard of excellence (not against each other). This year was my first year to compete, and I’ll be honest it is nerve wrecking.  However, I have learned so much about the foundation of photography and I have improved leaps and bounds through competing.  There is something to be said when a professional combines her expertise, imagination, passion, technical skills, a beautiful subject, and let’s not forget the perfect moment.  Looking through past competition winning images is inspiring and makes me appreciate that it’s the little things that count in the world of photography.

This year I merited three out of four prints which I am so happy about.  It also makes me excited about next year’s competition and applying all that I have learned to my new work. I have a few projects that I have in mind, and I can’t wait to see how they turn out.  It is always fun to set little goals for myself.

Anyhow, I just wanted to share the my three merited images. Hope you enjoy them!
